The author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to find that a bloodthirsty vampire is attacking the townspeople. He wants to get rid of the sexier, more romantic undead that have infected pop culture for the better part of the last quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. When Ben is reading old newspapers on microfilm in the library, the headline reads “Local Couple Victims of DUI.” The paper is believed to have been printed in 1956, a time when the term “DUI” was not yet in use.

The acting was solid but the plot was rushed and what I will never understand is that they felt the need to rewrite one of the greatest writers of our time.

Too many stories were abandoned, while others were created in strange ways. I just wish the story had been developed properly so that the series of episodes would be appropriate. Time could have been spent on the backstory of the murder at Marsten’s house as well, as it’s a great plot and explanation for why Barlow and Straker choose the house/location.
Do movies still test audiences?
